Abstract

Welcome to the new Security Journal, and it is very much a new journal. Indeed, this publication has merged with and absorbed the International Journal of Risk, Security and Crime Prevention, and this has enabled us to build on the best parts of both journals. The journal has a new publisher: Perpetuity Press are specialists in the area of security publications. We have appointed a new international Advisory Board who are committed to a new Vision for the journal. And we represent a new editorial team with responsibilities for different locations (Bonnie and John for the Americas and Martin and Adrian for the rest of the world). Moreover, responsibility for Reviews (not just books but videos and other outputs), which we hope will become an important part of the journal, has been divided between James Calder (the Americas) and Claire Lawrence (rest of the world). And with the help of Sandy Davidson, Michael Stack and others there is a new agreement with the American Society of Industrial Security to promote the journal and help facilitate its new Vision.
