Abstract
Robert Beaglehole and Anthony J. McMichael consider the implications of the changing global context for the future of public health. They review the current state of public health and then consider the changing context for public health, especially globalization and its implications for public health. Their message is that the rapidly changing global context, especially economic globalization and global environmental changes, presents public health with formidable and unprecedented challenges.
