Notes

  1. The journal Ornicar? was founded by Jacques-Alain Miller in 1975, with the encouragement of Lacan, to publish the transcribed sessions of Lacan's seminars. Lacan started his year long weekly seminars in 1951, with the goal of ‘returning to Freud’ and to concentrate on the linguistic aspects of the psyche. In 1953, he opened the seminars to the public, and run them for 27 years, until his death in 1980.
