Extracting PD therapy from coffee

  • Michael J. Haas

Signum Biosciences and colleagues have shown that a compound found in coffee helps to block the neurotoxic aggregation of α-synuclein and thereby improves motor function in mouse models of Parkinson's disease. To help develop the findings, Signum has received $295,000 from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
