Microbial Insect Control: Using Bugs to Kill Bugs

Abstract

The larva of the yellow fever mosquito, Aedes aegypti, adrift in a lethal cloud of Tolypocladium cylindrosporum, a fungal pathogen. Microorganisms can devastate insects as dramatically as chemicals can. Not just fungi, but also viruses and especially bacteria offer new hope for biological control of insect pests.
