Abstract
The study of the 29Si NMR spectra of two A-type zeolites (ZK4) with Si/Al ratios of 1.18 and 1.40 shows that the Si, Al distribution obeys Loewenstein's rule. The NMR absorption observed at −89.1 p.p.m. for both compositions is assigned to Si(4Al). This result suggests that the single peak observed for NaA (Si/Al = 1) should also be assigned to Si(4Al) and not Si(3Al) as recently proposed1–4.
