The spectrum of the supernova in MCG43223

Abstract

A POSSIBLE SUPERNOVA in the galaxy MCG43223 was found by Gilmore1 on 8 May 1978. The complex emission and absorption features of its spectrum which we have recorded are described below. Our findings confirm that this object is a supernova of Type V.
