Seismic evidence for sedimentary troughs of Mesozoic age on the Hebridean continental margin

Abstract

Seismic refraction shooting near the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides has shown the presence of major sedimentary units. Their age is estimated from seismic velocities and reveals important data on the structural evolution and petroleum potential of the Rockall Trough and its environs.
