Abstract

DISLOCATIONS in molecular crystals are well known, but have been studied on the microscale chiefly with a view to establishing their role in phase changes1 or topotactic transformations2. Here, the positions of individual molecules can be identified, and, in so far as 16 chlorocopper phthalocyanine is a typical molecular crystal, the results are important for concepts of dislocations and intercrystalline boundaries in such crystals.
