Abstract

SOME inducers of interferon, as well as interferon itself, have been shown to afford some protection against trophozoite1 and sporozoite induced malaria2 and Toxoplasma gondii in L cells3. The effect is similar to the way bacterial endotoxin stimulates host resistance to bacterial infection4,5 and enhances protection against rodent malaria6,7 and trypanosomes8,9.
