Possible Role in Contraction of Structurally Bound Phosphate of Muscle

Abstract

Experiments with paired skeletal muscles of the frog indicate that bound phosphate is immediately related to the contraction–relaxation cycle of skeletal muscle, and may be in combination with one of the myofibrillar proteins.
