Abstract

SEVERAL observations1,2 suggest that the metabolism of indoles, particularly 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), is disturbed in affective illness. The introduction of methysergide as a potent and specific antiserotonin agent suggests possible applications in affective illness.
