Abstract

TRITIUM emits β-particles of such low energies that absorption even in very thin layers of organic matter has to be taken into account. Calculations of the absorption of β-particles within a layer in which tritium is incorporated and in a superimposed layer of organic matter are presented in this communication. For a biological specimen the absorption can be taken as proportional to density.
