Some Physiological Characteristics of Auditory Flutter Fusion in Man

Abstract

The critical threshold or frequency at which an interrupted or “fluttering” sound appears to be continuous, an aspect of human perception analogous to the visual critical fusion threshold, has not been studied intensively. What follows is an analysis of some of the physiological factors which affect it.
