Abstract

IBUFENAC (4-isobutyl-phenylacetic acid) has recently been introduced as an anti-inflammatory drug. In animals it possesses analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties1. Thompson, Stephenson and Percy2 found raised serum transaminase-levels in 12 of 36 patients treated with ibufenac. Five cases of jaundice have now been recorded in about 400 patients receiving ibufenac2.
