Abstract
IT has been suggested1 that the vesicle-like structures inside the axon near the neuromuscular junction contain acetylcholine, but that “it would be practically impossible to pack 105 molecules of acetylcholine inside”. This is the order of the quantity of acetylcholine thought to be necessary in the foregoing work to produce the spontaneous miniature endplate potentials.
