Resorption of Necrotic Lens Material by a Newly Formed Lens Capsule in Certain Types of Cataract

Abstract

THE formation of a new lens capsule by regenerated epithelial cells under a superficial area of necrosis has been described by several authors. It may easily be observed by means of optical microscopy in some senile cataracts or in localized traumatic cataracts after periodic acid–Schiff staining.
