Abstract
APPRECIABLE proportions of fœtal hæmoglobin (Hb–F; αA2γF2) have been found1,2 in occasional cases of childhood leukæmia. This hæmoglobin has also been detected in some adult leukæmias3. Among the adult cases of erythroleukæmia examined by us4, three were exceptional in showing red-cell inclusion bodies after supravital staining, associated with the presence of a minor hæmoglobin component with electrophoretic properties very similar to those of Hb–H (Hb–βA4).
