  4. The whale meat was obtained from the Del Monte Fishing Company, Point San Pablo, Richmond, California. This plant does not process whale meat for human consumption. The samples were transported in dry ice to the USDA Western Regional Laboratory at Albany, California, bagged in polyethylene and frozen in a −30° F., 1,300 ft./min., blast freezer, repacked in dry ice, and transported by air freight to the Beltsville Laboratory.
