Abstract
ALTHOUGH the composition of the pool of free amino-acids in the yeast cell has been much investigated, this has been done using commercially supplied yeast1,2 or vegetative cells from growth cultures3,4. No work has been reported on the amino-acid content of sporulated cells. We have undertaken to compare vegetative, sporulating and sporulated cells in respect of their content of free amino-acids.
