Abstract
VERY young guppies (Lebistes reticulatus) will give a visible morphological reaction to extremely low concentrations of methyl testosterone in the water in an aquarium. Observations indicate that individuals 1–5 days of age are sensitive to concentrations of this steroid in the order of 10−12 M, and thus to quantities in the µµgm. range, if not lower.
