Abstract

DECAISNE1 pointed out that in Santalum album, Nanodea, Myoschilos, Osyris and more obscurely in Quinchamalium, the tip of the embryo sac extends beyond the ovule into the ovarian cavity. The present account is based on an investigation of Quinchamalium chilense, a native of the South American Andes.
