Abstract
CERTAIN aspects of the experiments reported in Dr. J. A. H. Tatchell's recent communication1 are likely to result in misunderstanding of the genetic nature of the inheritance of susceptibility to pulmonary tumours in mice. Heston2 has established that the inheritance of susceptibility to pulmonary tumours in mice is multifactorial in nature and therefore the further investigation of this problem requires an approach designed to take this into account. The experiment reported by Dr. Tatchell does not appear to do so.
