Abstract
MORPHOLOGICAL1,2 and biochemical3–5 studies indicate that the mitochondrion is a structurally complex organelle in which certain oxidative enzyme systems are localized. The succinic dehydrogenase system, in particular, has been shown to be situated almost exclusively in the mitochondrial fraction of tissue homogenates.
