Abstract
IT is a common experience that in the same laboratory the susceptibility of test insects to insecticides varies from one occasion to another, but few attempts appear to have been made to study the causative factors in detail. In these laboratories, we have investigated the variation in the susceptibility of Culex fatigans Wied. to DDT since September 1949. In view of the recent communication of Burnett1 describing the influence of atmospheric humidity on the mortality-rate of mosquitoes exposed to certain residual insecticides, our results may be of interest.
