Abstract
THE plasma of rabbits made severely anæmic with phenylhydrazine, with less than 3.7 gm. hæmoglobin per 100 ml. of blood, contains erythropoietic material. The erythropoietic activity has been demonstrated in heterologous species, for example, rats1, mice2 and dogs3, in the filtrate obtained after boiling the anæmic rabbit plasma at pH 5.5 for a few minutes.
