Abstract
IN a previous communication1, it was reported that D-sorbitol enhances the absorption in the ultraviolet by aqueous solutions of L-ascorbic acid. Continuing the work, it appeared that the ‘enhanced’ values are simply the true values of the ultra-violet absorption of L-ascorbic acid, which hitherto have been measured only occasionally and unsystematically.
