Abstract

THE formation of complexes of lanthanon ions is reflected in variations in the absorption spectra of their solutions or of the reflexion spectra of their solid salts. Some of these variations have been examined in studies on lanthanon complexes1; but thus far there is extant no direct correlation of variations in absorption spectra with the stabilities of complexes formed with a series of homologous ligands.
