Abstract
SINCE the stimuli which activate the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland to discharge adrenocorticotrophin (emotional stress, several drugs such as adrenaline, and so on) elicit a parallel release of antidiuretic hormone from the hypothalamus and from the neurohypophysis1, we thought it worth while to investigate the possibility that posterior pituitary hormones may play a part in the regulation of the secretion of adrenocorticotrophic hormone from the adenohypophysis.
