Abstract
IN order to further understanding of magnetic fluctuations in the frequency range 0.5–20 cycles per sec., a programme was initiated by the Geophysics Research Directorate, U.S. Air Force Cambridge Research Center, in November 1949. The work done by Menzel and Salisbury1 and by Willis2 was continued with the view of obtaining correlation with other geophysical and solar phenomena.
