Abstract

THE experimental determination of the relationship between the extinction coefficient and the particle size for spherical bodies having diameters less than about 50 microns is of considerable theoretical interest in the verification of certain aspects of the vector theory applicable to the problem, and also of practical importance in the application of the photo-extinction method of powder-size analysis.
