Abstract

ALTHOUGH detailed knowledge of the components of pentose nucleic acids is still incomplete, considerable effort over a long period has been directed towards the problem of the mode of union of the constituent nucleosides. It was early recognized that these units are linked through phosphoric acid residues, and the precise manner in which this takes place has been studied more recently by electrometric titration1.
