Effect of Hydrogen Atoms on Intensities of X-Ray Reflexions

Abstract

IN calculating the intensities of X-ray reflexions (diffractions) from crystals, it is customary to disregard contributions that may be due to hydrogen atoms. Their single electrons Will tend to merge with the distributions about other atoms to which they are chemically bound, and the relatively small disturbance of the symmetry about these other atoms can usually be safely neglected.
