Abstract
THE emission of gamma rays from substances traversed by fast neutrons was at first studied by Lea1, using neutrons produced by bombarding beryllium with alpha rays. The subject was also studied by Kikuchi, Aoki and Husimi2, using homogeneous neutrons from the deuteron-deuteron reaction. The same experiment has been repeated more accurately and using more elements than before, the result being shown in Fig. 1.
