Glucolysis without Phosphorylation in the Chick Embryo

Abstract

DURING the course of last year, a preliminary communication1 in these columns gave an account of experiments on the chick embryo in the first week of its development, which suggested that glucolysis proceeds in these young tissues without phosphorylation. We wish now to give further details strongly indicating that this is so.
