Abstract
THE active department of clinical research, under the direction of Sir Thomas Lewis at University College Hospital, London, has been engaged for the last eight or nine years in the study of disturbances of the circulation in the limbs. Because of their much greater surface relative to that of the head and trunk, the limbs suffer more from alterations in blood supply, and the circulation in the limbs is of greater importance. This book is not, however, an account of the scientific discoveries which have been made, but is written as a guide to the practitioner to direct his treatment of different conditions.
