Electrical Evidence on Calcite Imperfection

Abstract

IN view of the recent letter of Birge1 concluding that the one remaining large discrepancy in the values of the fundamental physical constants is traceable to either geometrical imperfection in calcite or an error in Bohr's formula for the Rydberg constant, all evidence of imperfection in calcite becomes highly important.
