Abstract

(1) HpHERE must have been little thought of A industrial application of the first im portant spectroscopic investigations more than two hundred and fifty years ago. To-day there can be few industries of any importance that fail to make use of the spectroscopic method in the control of products, whether they be metals, food stuffs or medicines.
