Abstract

IN previous papers on the origin of the auroral spectrum, and recently in a letter to NATURE of Dec. 4, 1926, I have directed attention to the existence of a second green line lying in the region of about λ5230, which should correspond to the line, or rather group of lines, N2 of the spectrum from solid nitrogen.
