Abstract
IT is fifty years since the first volume of Buckton's monograph on British aphides was published. Since that time, plant lice have been widely studied in Europe and America, and more recently in Japan and other countries. Mr. Theobald has studied the aphides of Britain for some thirty years, and has published numerous papers on them from time to time. Every one interested in insects, particularly economic entomologists, will welcome, therefore, the publication of this up-to-date monograph, based on the author's extensive studies.
