The Calculus for Engineers

Abstract

HERE is a new departure; a book on the calculus written without any reference to the examination room, solely with the object of teaching the engineer, first that he is already in possession of the fundamental ideas of the calculus, and accustomed to use them, then that these ideas can be easily put into exact mathematical formulae, and ultimately that the advantages of the formal calculus thus obtained are great indeed, and can be reaped without an enormous amount of previous knowledge.
