Abstract
A SINGULAR phenomenon was observed in Paris in the month of January. An obscure cloud remained in a state of suspension over Paris and a large tract of the country from the 4th up to the 26th, without any intermission. Neither sun, nor stars, nor moon were visible for an instant during that lengthened period.
