Hydraulic Resistance of Different-Type River Channels with Manifestations of Karst and Suffosion Processes

Abstract

Hydraulic resistance of medium and large rivers with different types of channels, in particular rivers flowing in the areas of occurrence of closed karst and clastokarst, are considered. The ranges of variations in the resistance, depending on the depth of occurrence of the basal layer, are determined for each of the major types of river channels. The values of all morphometric and hydraulic characteristics are shown to correspond to the average maximum flow values.
