Abstract

The implications of management of stuck JJstents in solitary functioning renal units hasnot been adequately addressed to in Englishliterature. We have presented the management ofsuch a case of `overlooked trapped JJ stent' in a solitary functioning renal unit. Retrograderemoval was safely accomplished by using thedouble guide wire technique. A solitaryfunctioning obstructed renal unit should beattended to promptly in the least morbid andminimally invasive manner (double guide wireand single impulse mode lithoclast). Thecurrent literature regarding their managementand their implications has been reviewed anddiscussed.
