Abstract

The microwave-assisted gas-phase oxidation of propane over perovskite-type catalysts was studied with an intention of investigating the feasibility of the new multi-mode microwave applicator. Temperature measurement was made with IR-pyrometer and thermocouple by insertion technique. Radial and axial temperature gradients are unavoidable and partially responsible for observed rate enhancement under microwave irradiation.
