Abstract
Methods known in engineering geocryology for ensuring the stability of buildings and structures are presented. Causes of failure to fully consider natural and technical factors affecting variation in the geocryological situation in heavily developed areas, which may be aggravated by production errors during the installation and service life of beds and foundations, are discussed. Characteristic features of the development of emergency circumstances are examined, and a promising method is proposed for their prevention.
