Bearing Capacity of an Eccentrically and Obliquely Loaded Strip Foundation on a Weightless Cohesive Bed

  • Published:
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

Exact solutions are given for the problem of the bearing capacity of the weightless cohesive bed of a strip foundation for two cases: one- and two-sided overflow. The effect of the incline and eccentricity of the load is analyzed, and assumptions relating to consideration of these factors are formulated on the basis of these solutions.
