Abstract
Zinc enolates formed from 1-aryl-2,2-dibromobutan-1-ones and zinc react with alkyl 6-bromo-2-oxo-2-H-chromen-3-carboxylates affording alkyl 1-aroyl-6-bromo-2-oxo-1-ethyl-1,7b-dihydrocyclopropa[c]-chromen-1a(2H)-carboxylates as a single isomer.
