Electrochemical Halogenation of the Single-Charged Anion of Dodecahydro-7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborate

Abstract

By means of electrochemical iodination and bromination of potassium dodecahydro-7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborate, extracted are monoiodide and monobromide derivatives in the form of alkylammonium salts with preparative yields. Their structure is confirmed by the data of elemental analysis and IR and 11B NMR spectroscopy.
