Abstract
A new method was developed for one-pot synthesis of 2,3,5,10b-tetrahydrooxazolo[3,2-c][1,3]benzoxazine in 51% yield by successive reactions of monoethanolamine with salicylaldehyde and paraformaldehyde. The corrosion-protective properties of the title compound and intermediate N-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-aminoethanol were studied.
